Meet Marshall

Marshall Cotton is a dedicated and experienced coach, referee, and corrections professional with a lifelong passion for sports and mentorship. A graduate of the University of Iowa, he played college football while earning a bachelor’s degree in general studies with an emphasis in criminal justice. Marshall spent 10 years as an assistant football coach at Iowa Wesleyan College, playing a key role in transforming the program into a winning team. His love for coaching extended to youth sports, where he guided and mentored 8th-grade football players. 

 

With over 36 years of service in corrections as an Activity Specialist, Marshall devoted his career to planning meaningful programs for inmates, fostering personal growth and rehabilitation. His impact extended beyond the prison walls onto the field, where he spent more than 30 years officiating football, basketball, and baseball. Beyond his professional achievements, Marshall is a devoted family man. He has been married to Cindy for 35 years, and together they have raised five children. Known for his dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to both sports and community service, Marshall has left a lasting mark on athletes, colleagues, and the countless individuals he has mentored throughout his career.
